The Road to Glory: BCS Championship Preview

Tradition.

History.

Storied.

It’s a storybook showdown; the clash of two legendary programs that have written many a tales in the book of college football.

A Cinderella Season  [Notre Dame]: It’s been the fairytale season for the Fighting Irish. In 2007 Notre Dame finished the season 3-9, quiet arguably the worst team in the program’s history. Now five years later Notre Dame has played a perfect 12-0 season to claim the No.1 ranked team in the nation and contend not for a bowl, but for the national title.

History in the Making: [Alabama]: It’s what they do. They win. Decorated with 14 national championships, 27 conference championships, and an NCAA-record 59 postseason bowl appearances, Alabama is no stranger to playing in the big games. Now Alabama is attempting to do what no program has done in the BCS era, win a third national championship.

They are programs that you love or hate but regardless you respect them. These storied programs are literally the history of college football.

Will the Irish win their first title in 24 years and be the first team to beat all 6 conferences in the BCS era?

Will the Crimson Tide be the first team to win three national titles and birth a dynasty in the BCS era?

It’s an epic game for there are few programs, and even fewer games for that matter, that will write pages in the college football history books. Jan. 7th ‘s BCS National Championship Game will be one of them.

Tune in Monday, January 7th, 2013 @ 8pm EST on ESPN for the BCS Championship Game!
