Super Bowl 50: Special Teams

All week we discussed the offense and defense of the Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos.  Today, I will highlight some of the special men on special teams for both teams. They will determine field position and can end the game with one kick.  Read “special men will make or break you” for more details on why this unit is so special.

Here are the crucial players for both Carolina and Denver on special teams.

Carolina Panthers
This unit is coached by Bruce Dehaven who has been coaching in the NFL for 30 years. This will be his fifth Super Bowl, but he has never won it. He is fighting prostate cancer while battling for his first championship. You better believe that these guys will make the most of each opportunity.
Graham Gano (#9 Kicker)

Brad Nortman (#8 Punter)

Ted Ginn, Jr. (#19 Punt Returner) – Also a starting wide receiver and has seven touchdowns from returns.

Fozzy Whittaker (#43 Kick Returner)

Denver Broncos
Brandon McManus (#8 Kicker)

Britton Colquitt (#4 Punter)

Emmanuel Sanders (#10 Punt Returner) – Also a starting wide receiver

Andre Caldwell (#12 Kick Returner)

This concludes my Super Bowl prep.  You have some key information for both teams.  Visit these posts to refresh:
