Jacqueline M. Northrop Baker is principal consultant and founder of Scarlet Communications. She launched the company to provide consulting and coaching in the areas of etiquette and employee engagement. She strategically works to create solutions and discover opportunities that will further the growth of organizations and arm youth, employees and executives with the critical life skills that will foster positive and productive business and personal lifestyles.
Jacqueline takes a renewed, innovative and realistic approach to the etiquette instruction that she instills through her self-designed etiquette training. Jacqueline recognizes that the origins of etiquette span back several centuries. She respects those traditions while making the everyday practices relevant, efficient and effective to today’s usage.
Utilizing the Engage, Enlighten and Empower model of Scarlet Communications, Jacqueline has consulted corporations and community organizations including, Cotillion Society of Detroit, the Detroit Lions, Greater Detroit Area Health Council, Kappa League, Marygrove College, Michigan Women’s Foundation, Midnight Golf, the Renaissance Chapter of The Links Incorporated, Rhonda Walker Foundation, SG Companies, St. John’s Providence Hospital and WDIV-TV 4.
She has also served in leadership and management roles providing professional development, public relations and event management to Fortune 50 organizations including AT&T and Ford Motor Company.
As a certified Six Sigma Green Belt, Jacqueline consistently develops systems to aid clients in streamlining processes to assist in reaching their strategic planning and development goals.
Jacqueline studied at Wayne State University where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in public relations in 2004 and master’s degree in instructional technology with specializations in interactive technologies and performance improvement in 2008. Jacqueline received certification as a Six Sigma Green Belt in process improvement in 2009.
For over 10 years, Jacqueline has committed her time and energy to the engagement of her community and the individuals in which she is dedicated to enlighten and empower. In addition to her professional obligations, she is a founding member of Detroit Young Professionals, a member of the International Society of Performance Improvement, the Public Relations Society of America and the Karmanos Cancer Institute Volunteer Board.
